Upper Susquehanna Pedalers & Paddlers Spring Race

12 and 18 Miles Oneonta, NY  Registration: Begins at 10am at the start.  Race start:11am, Rain or Shine Classes: All NYMCRA Point classes, Pro, Recreation and Recreation Mixed Awards: First three places in each division.

Course description: All classes start at Route 205 Bridge in Oneonta and finish at the Otego fishing access. Recreation classes, C-1W and any class with youth will finish when reaching the Otego access. All other classes proceed to Wells Bridge, turn a buoy and return to the Otego fishing access. Hot food and awards immediately following at the Otego Elementary School.

15 miles on the Tioughnioga River from Truxton, NY to Yaman Park at Cortland, NY. Registration on race day is at Truxton fire department (Rte. 13, Truxton, NY). Down river course on beautiful, flat, twisting Class I water.  Note: there is a Class II drop at the old dam above East River Crossing.

Sundowner Series Paddle Clinics and Time Trials – Upper Saranac Lake

The Sundowner Series of clinics and time trials will be held on June 7, 21, July 5, 19, Aug 2, 16, 30.  Paddlers meet at the Saranac Inn state boat launch; on Upper Saranac Lake at 6 p.m. Informal clinics can be arranged on everything from paddling stroke to wake riding.  Please call ahead for the clinic schedule.  Sessions are $10 each. AWA members are free.

The Corinth Community churches sponsor the Down By the Riverside Races on Sunday August 14 on the Hudson River at the Village of Corinth, NY. Races start from the Village Beach on Rt 9N in town. A 6 mile race will be held at 9:00 AM and a 2 mile race at 11:30 AM, both around a 2 mile flatwater circuit on the Hudson. The races are for all classes of canoes/kayaks. At 12:30 PM we will hold the Minister's Cup, a 4 person/canoe contest of four fun events including a relay, in and out, switiching places, etc. Free picnic food at 11:45 is a part of the event.     Information from:

A Wounded Warrior Disabled Sports Project Event presented by Cape Ability Outrigger Ohana, Inc., a chapter of Disabled Sports USA. 400 meter sprint races on Genesee River in Rochester, NY

Double hulled outrigger canoes provided as well as a steersperson. T- shirt included with entry fee. All proceeds benefit CAOO to provide programs and services to paddlers with disabilities.
